Our Garden

Over the past few weeks, we have been busy doing a lot of work outside. Jud built a garden in our backyard, expanded our flower garden and laid rock around it, and planted a tree! We've been having wonderful spring weather and we have all enjoyed spending hours outside.

In our garden we have planted three tomato plants, and are growing green beans and zucchini from seeds. I am so excited to have fresh vegetables this summer! The boys have absulutely loved helping in the garden. Josh has learned about plants and how they grow at school, so is really excited about doing it at home. Here is a picture of our garden after it was finished being built, but before we planted anything.
The tree that we ended up planting is a peach tree. Jud and I really wanted to try having some kind of fruit tree. It has the most beautiful pink flowers and is already starting to grow little peaches! Right now there are just fuzzy white balls, and I'm not sure how well they'll grow this year since the tree is still so young, but it's still really exciting to see! It has also grown a ton of green leaves in the past few weeks. Here is a picture taken shorty after planting it.

Hopefully we'll have a plentiful year!

I heard you are supposed to pick the flowers so that the tree will put more energy into getting bigger so that you will have more fruit later on. We are excited too we planted a bunch of fruit trees, so it will be fun if they survive:)
